Emmanuel, the Magazine of Eucharistic Spirituality, is one of the oldest and most respected Catholic periodicals in the United States. Founded in 1895 as a journal for priests, Emmanuel today reaches an audience which cuts across the spectrum.
A single enduring goal has guided Emmanuel throughout its history: to foster love for the Eucharist among the church’s ministers and members. The Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament has published Emmanuel since 1905.
Emmanuel focuses on the whole eucharistic mystery―the Eucharist celebrated, the Eucharist contemplated, and the Eucharist lived―with writing that nourishes the mind and the soul. It provides thoughtful, practical, and uplifting articles and prayer resources for all who want to deepen their understanding and living of the Eucharist.
Regular features include: Scripture reflections for homiletic and personal use, a pastoral commentary on the liturgy, and reviews of books related to eucharistic theology, liturgy, prayer, ministry, and spirituality. A new feature examines the Eucharist and culture.
